WESTFIELD - The Chautauqua Lake Lady Thunderbirds put together a dominating performance as they took down the Westfield Lady Wolverines, 79-15, in Division 2 West girls basketball.
Jenna Einink led the way with 20 points, 16 rebounds and nine steals. Ashton Albanesius added 12 points and 10 rebounds while Ashley Moulton had 14 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Courtney Hewes charted 13 points for the winners.
The Lady Thunderbirds outscored the home team 26-1 in the first quarter and held a commanding 41-1 lead at halftime.
Westfield's leading scorer was Kari Knopp with six points. Emma Fermier and Rachel Allen each had six rebounds in the losing cause.
BROCTON TOPS CVCS
BROCTON - The Brocton Lady Bulldogs (2-5, 3-6) picked up their second straight win with a 46-26 decision over Cassadaga Valley (1-6, 1-10).
Brocton jumped out to a nine-point lead after the first quarter and a 26-13 halftime lead. The Lady Cougars hung tough in the third quarter as they were only outscored, 14-13. However, Brocton held the visitors to without a point in the final eight minutes for the victory.
Jessica Putcher led the way for the winners with 18 points and six steals while Jess Merle contributed with 11 points, 11 rebounds and three blocks. Morgan Bennett had nine boards in the win.
Meghan Ames led the Lady Cougars with seven points and six rebounds while Ashley Repine had six blocks.
