Helen M. Woleen, 83, of 107 Newton Ave., Jamestown, where she resided with her son and family for many years, died Monday, Jan. 20, 2014, in the Heritage Park Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility.
She was born Jan. 4, 1931, in Jamestown, the daughter of the late Charles and Ida Knorr Wirsen.
Helen was a graduate of Jamestown High School, and for many years worked as a meat wrapper at the former Loblaw's, Bells and Pearson's Market. She also worked as a home healthcare aide for Willcare.

Helen was a member of First Lutheran Church, past chairman of Thule Lodge and past president of the Euclid School PTA. Helen loved spending time with her grandchildren, especially attending their sporting events.
Surviving are a son, Randy (Dianne) Woleen of Jamestown; two daughters: Cheryl (Rick) Woodring of New Hampshire, and Wendy (Mike) Bloss of Jamestown; six grandsons: Raymond (Anu) Woodring of Washington, D.C., Nicholas and Nathaniel Bloss, both of Jamestown; Zachary (Olivia) Woleen of West Virginia, Jordan (Betsy) Woleen of Lakewood, and Alexander Woleen of Jamestown.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Woleen; and two brothers, Marcus and Knorr Wirsen.
Helen's wishes were that her body be donated to science and that no funeral service or visitation be observed.
