Billy J. Craday, 78, of Corry, Pa., died Sunday, Jan. 19, 2014, at Corry Manor Nursing Home, Cor-ry, Pa.
He was born April 3, 1935, in Fagus, Mo., the son of the late Lester and Ella Morris Crady.
Billy previously worked at Maplevale, and his last employment was at Peek'n Peak Resort, having worked as an assistant manager, manager at the rental shop and telephone technician. He was a past member of the Corry Country Club and Corry Elks Club. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran having served four years. Billy attended the Clymer United Methodist Church. He liked to fish and play golf, and was an avid wine maker and loved to cook.
He is survived by his wife, Judith Emory Craday, of Corry, Pa.; son, Douglas (Claudia) Craday, of Warren, Pa.; daughters: Debra (Sean) Kinal, of Westfield, N.Y., and Denise Craday, Clymer, N.Y.; stepchildren: Craig Bensink, of Erie, Pa., Mark Bensink of Clymer, N.Y., and Shelly (Keith) Cady, Sherman, N.Y.; grandchildren: Ryan Kinal of Warren, Pa., Cory (Sarah) Kinal, of Hickory, N.C., Leah Kinal, of Mayville, N.Y., Sarah (Nate) Babcock of French Creek, N.Y., Shelly (Will) Kruger, La Grange, Ga., Meagan (Josh) Morgan, of Warren, Pa., and Kayce Craday and Shane Craday both of Warren, Pa.; step-grandchildren: Jade Bensink of Ohio, Masen Bensink and Halie Bensink of Georgia, and Allyson Cady of Sherman, N.Y.; six great-grandchildren: Hunter and Jackson Babcock, Brysen and Savanna Kruger, Jacob Meleen and Levi Burlingame; and by the mother of his children, Bobbi Damon Poorman.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Gene Craday, and a great-granddaughter, Emma Babcock.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 23, 2014, at the Spitzer Funeral Home, Clymer with the Rev. Carolyn Stow, pastor of the Clymer United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
Friends will be received Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2014, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Clymer United Methodist Church building fund, Elgin Beaver Dam Fire Department, Clymer Fire Department and the Re-gional Hospice of Corry, Pa.
