ASHVILLE - Karpinski Engineering's Ashville branch continues to give back to the community. For the past five years Karpinski has held a "Wear Jeans Day" fundraiser at its Ashville branch.
Sue Colwell, St. Susan Center executive director, said she was thrilled to accept a $400 donation from the efforts of Karpinski Engineering. Colwell said that this donation represents willingness to work and give back.
"Every donation given represents hard work," Colwell said. "We are so grateful for those who are willing to give."
Sue Colwell, St. Susan Center executive director, stopped by Karpinski Engineering to pick up a $400 donation. Karpinski Engineering staff, back row, from left, are: Tom Eckwahl, Steve Stoeltzing, Christine Carlson, Matt Wright and Brian O’Connor. In front are: Sue Colwell, Dave Hinderer and Jeremiah Smith.
David Hinderer, Karpinski business development coordinator, said he was excited about giving to St. Susan Center. Hinderer organizes the donation throughout the year.
"When the Karpinski staff donates to St. Susan Center we know that the soup kitchen does more than just serve meals," Colwell said. "The staff chose St. Susan Center, five years ago, because we know they serve people who are hurting and have great need within our community."
Mark D. Harrington, Karpinski vice president, said he was glad to be able to donate to St. Susan Center.
"It is a worthwhile endeavor," Harrington said. "We are glad to support it."
St. Susan Center serves, on average, more than 300 meals each day.
