LAKELAND, Fla. - Kenneth J. Johnson Sr., 84, of Lakeland, Fla., formerly of Stafford, a produce manager for Comstock Foods in Rochester, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 9, 2014, at Oakbridge Healthcare Center in Lakeland.
Mr. Johnson was born June 22, 1929, in Batavia, a son of the late Gardner and Florence Overholt Johnson.
Mr. Johnson was a life member of the Moose and a life exempt member of the Stafford Fire Department. He retired from Comstock Foods in 1986.
His wife, Helen M. Johnson, passed away on Jan. 31, 2001.
Surviving are his children: Edward (Cathi) Johnson of Salem, Ore., Donna (Wally) Douglas of Sinclairville, N.Y., Sandra (Tommy) Dees of Lakeland, Fla., and Linda (Doug) Hagen of Batavia; a broth-er, Floyd Johnson of Clinton, N.Y.; a sister, Evelyn Johnson of Oakfield; two daughters-in-law, Kathy Johnson of LeRoy, and Margie Johnson-Baldi of East Otto, N.Y.; 13 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren, three great- great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was the father of the late Kenneth "Smokey" Johnson Jr. and Roy Johnson; and brother of the late Lewis Johnson and Alice Poole.
Friends may call on Monday from 4-7 p.m. at the H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 403 E. Main St., Batavia, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday. Memorials may be made to Oakbridge Healthcare Center Activity Depart-ment, 3110 Oakbridge Boulevard East, Lakeland, FL 33803. Burial will be in Stafford Rural Cemetery, Stafford.
