LAKEWOOD - Lakewood American Legion Post 1286 continues to expand by reaching out to local organizations and projects in the surrounding communities.
The Lakewood-Busti Golden Agers will begin holding monthly meetings at the legion, which offers rooms for larger functions, on-site parking for up to 70 Golden Agers and wheelchair accessibility. The legion, located at 174 Chautauqua Ave. in Lakewood, also has a large covered picnic area for the organization's events.
The Golden Agers, a community-oriented organization for locals over the age of 55, started meeting in 1968.
