Big Time Productions and The Post-Journal, in conjunction with 59lucylane.com and Wing City Grille, present the fifth annual Chautauqua's Got Talent.
Auditions for the fifth-annual countywide talent competition are set to be held at Wing City Grille in Lakewood on Tuesday and at Wing City Grille in Fredonia on Tuesday, Jan. 28. Registration starts at 5 p.m., and auditions begin at 7 p.m.
Auditioning hopefuls are to be prepared to offer a sample of their talent for approximately one minute, and bring a parent or guardian if they're under 18.
The new host of Chautauqua’s Got Talent, John Erickson, is pictured.
This contest welcomes singers, dancers, magicians, comedians and other performers of all ages to compete for at least $500 cash, a promotional website and dinner once a month for a year at Wing City Grille. This contest will have a judges' panel that will offer constructive criticism, but the audience will decide the winner.
The production team has decided to open up to online video auditions as well. To send a video or YouTube link, or to acquire a preregistration form, send an email to Jamestownspire@gmail.com. For more information, visit www.spiretheater.org or www.facebook.com/chautauquatalent. Online preregistration is not mandatory to audition.
The audition results as well as the results for each stage of the competition will appear in The Post-Journal.
After four years of being a judge, then host, local performer and radio personality Matt Warren said goodbye to the Chautauqua's Got Talent family to take a teaching position out of town. So, this year's host will be John Erickson. Erickson is known for hosting other talent contests, community theater and radio.
The competition will be held at The Spire Theater, 317 E. Third St., in Jamestown on Mondays from Feb. 3 through March 10 at 7 p.m. Presale tickets will be available at The Labyrinth Press Company for $6. Tickets will be $8 at the door, or $30 for a pass to all nights.
