FALCONER - Host Falconer has built up a considerable lead after the first day of the 14th annual Patrick J. Morales Wrestling Tournament on Friday.
The Golden Falcons have 103.5 points followed by Westfield-Ripley-Chautauqua Lake with 70, Jamestown with 61 points, Maple Grove with 57 and Pine Valley/Cattaraugus-Little Valley with 52.
There were four upsets in the opening day action as second-seeded Jake Youngberg of Falconer (152), second-seeded Matt Evans of Randolph (99), third-seeded Emiliano Velasquez of Jamestown (126) and third-seeded Howie Nolan of Maple Grove (160) all went down to defeat.

Seventh-seeded Joseph Lindberg of Southwestern knocked off Younberg, 5-3; seventh-seeded Kole Holden of Sheffield had a 12-3 major decision over Evans; sixth-seeded Ricky Prosen of Sheffield took Velasquez, 7-3; and sixth-seeded Robbie Wilston of Eisenhower dropped Nolan, 7-3.
Action begins at 10 a.m. on today, the semifinals are at noon and the finals at 6 p.m.
