Scarpino was recently informed of her acceptance, and is hoping that the community will offer support.
"I have always been involved in the community throughout my life, especially by working the St. Joseph spaghetti dinners and our annual Italian Festival at St. John RC Church in Jamestown," Scarpino said. "I hope that the community in return, helps me."
