Harold Stahlman, 81, of 27 Redwood Dr., Brocton, N.Y., passed away Sunday Jan. 5, 2014, at Westfield Memorial Hospital.
He was born April 22, 1932, in Clymer, N.Y., the son of the late Meade and Ruth Thompson Stahlman.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having serving in the Korean War/Conflict. He belonged to the USS Leyte CV 32 Association and the USS Kula Gulf Association CVE 108, and the American Legion Post 0351 Ripley, N.Y., and the Brocton Post 0434. Harold worked at Welch's Foods in North East, Pa., for 22 years, having retired in 1989. He was also a member of the Teamsters #397, in Erie, Pa. His passion was automobiles and enjoyed anything mechanical. He owned his own auto body repair shop in Ripley.
Harold's special love was his family.
Harold is survived by his wife, Elizabeth "Liz" Stahlman, of Brocton, N.Y., whom he married Aug. 24, 1952, in Clymer, N.Y.; three daughters: Christine (Dana) Lindberg, of Jamestown, N.Y., Joleen (Bob) Tabolt, of Longmont, Colo., and Kathlleen (George) Mozeika, of Ault, Colo.; and three sons: Jeffrey (Cheryl) Stahlman, Ripley, N.Y., Ricky (Michelle) Stahlman, Pennsville, N.J., and Donald (Jackie) Stahlman, Portland, N.Y.; 20 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren.; and a sister, Betty Adams, of Taylorsville, Utah.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by four brothers: Charles, Russell, Raymond and Donald Stahlman; and one sister, Bessie Lawrence.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday Jan. 11, 2014, at the Spitzer Funeral Home, Clymer, N.Y., with Pastor Kevin Connolly, of the TriChurch Parish, in Brocton, N.Y. Burial will be in Mina Cemetery.
Friends will be received for 37 p.m. Friday at the funeral home in Clymer, N.Y.
