Lakewood Kiwanis Helps Santa Visit Families

January 5, 2014
The Post-Journal

Christmas arrived a little early for some local area children, thanks to the Lakewood Kiwanis Club. On Sunday, Dec. 15, Santa and Mrs. Claus paid a visit to several families. With the help of their elves and reindeer, the families received Christmas trees and ornaments. Santa and Mrs. Claus gave each of the children a nice present to put under their new tree. As Mrs. Claus remarked "I think we sometimes forget how much we can help people here in our community just by reaching out to them as well as our local agencies. Merry Christmas everyone." The Kiwanis Club of Lakewood is committed to assisting the community with several events and projects that have included helping families with maternal and children health, child care and development, parent education and support as well as safety and pediatric trauma.
