Charles Clair Vogle, 58, of Lilburn, Ga., formerly of Jamestown, N.Y., passed away Sunday, Dec. 29, 2013, in Gwinette Medical Center.
He was born March 8, 1955, in Jamestown, N.Y., the son of Shirley DeLong Vogle and the late Charles E. Vogle.
He attended Jamestown High School, and was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during Vietnam. While living in Jamestown, he had been employed as a DJ, working in many venues throughout the city.
A resident of Georgia since 1982, he had been a selfemployed contractor.
While living in Jamestown, he had been a member of the former Brooklyn Heights Methodist Church.
Besides his mother of Jamestown, N.Y., he is survived by his stepfather, David Hoyt of Jamestown, N.Y.; his wife of 18 years, Kathy Martin Vogle of Lilburn, Ga.; three stepsons: Sean Flowers, Steven and Luke Gonzalez; six grandchildren; a sister, Beth (David) Bemis of Jamestown, N.Y.; two stepsisters: Linda (Tom) Anzalone and Marilyn Hoyt, both of Mayville, N.Y.; two nephews: Michael Lofecheck and Joshua Hazlett; and two nieces: Alanna and Kayle Bemis.
Besides his father who died in 1997, he was preceded in death by a sister, Kathy Lofecheck, who died in 2008; and a nephew, Chad Bemis who died in 2001.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Jan. 4, at 3 p.m., at Christ First Methodist Church, Jamestown. The Rev. Natalie Hansen will officiate.
