LITTLE VALLEY - Private payment to county-operated nursing homes, as well as use of a few services at the Onoville Marina will be going up in 2014. Unanimous votes will have more money coming in to help offset costs.
Residents of the county-operated Pines nursing homes in Olean and Machias will see an increase for private payment care. The new rates, to go into effect January 2014, will raise the Olean facility rates from $225 a day to $230 a day. Rates at the Machias facility will move from $260 a day to $265.
Rates at the facility have not been raised since 2011 when the rates increased by $2. Prior to that, the same incremental increase was applied through a 2010 local law.
No one spoke for or against the increases during the public hearing, allowing the measure to receive unanimous support.
With the same lack of attendance, increases to the Onoville Marina rates were also increased through unanimous vote. New rates will be in effect as of Jan. 1, 2014. Those rates will be:
