A Jamestown man was charged Tuesday after allegedly robbing Carlson's Jewelry of approximately $2,295 worth of merchandise.
According to the Jamestown Police Department, officers responded to a robbery in progress at the jewelry store-located at 31 N. Main St.-at approximately 3 p.m., where it was determined that Steven E. Riley, 46, walked into the store and exited with two pieces of high-priced jewelry.
Riley was reportedly followed by store personnel and detained until police arrived. He was charged with fourth-degree grand larceny and fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property.
Riley is currently at the Jamestown City Jail pending arraignment.
