The Resource Center will host a meeting to update people with disabilities and families on changes impacting the way services are delivered.
The meeting will take place Monday in The Resource Center's administrative offices, located inside the former Celoron school on Dunham Avenue. The meeting will begin at 6 p.m.
Changes are taking place at the state and federal levels that will affect the ways in which employment, residential and other services are provided to people with developmental disabilities. Topics to be addressed at The Resource Center's meetings include changes in the delivery of Pre-Vocational Services; "Front Door"; "Consolidated Supports & Services"; "Self-Directed Plans"; "Money Follows the Person"; and "Coordinated Assessment System."
The Resource Center urges people with disabilities and their families to attend the meeting in order to stay informed about the changes that are taking place, and to learn how they can share their opinions with government officials. These are the most significant changes to occur in decades, and TRC representatives are concerned that families will be caught off guard if they are not paying attention to the changes taking place.
