CELORON-An old-fashioned Christmas is coming to Celoron on Sunday from 3-5 p.m.
Held at the Lucille Ball Memorial Park, there will be plenty of free events for area residents to enjoy. Horse drawn wagon rides, Christmas music, cookies, hot chocolate with the chance to see Santa's reindeer at the Christmas Donkey will be just some of the events citizens can enjoy.
Outside the park a row of Christmas trees decorated by Celoron organizations light up the park.
"For the fourth consecutive year, Brigiotta's Farmland Produce and Garden Center Inc. has ensured the success of the Olde Fashion Christmas Celebration by donating all of the Christmas trees in the park and the gift certificates for all of the contest winners," said Scott Schrecengost, Celoron mayor.
"Holiday Marina also made a donation to this event. The local groups that are competing in the 2013 Tree Decorating Contest are: C and A Auto and Marine, Carlson's Boat Livery, Celoron Hose Company No. 1, Inc., Celoron United Methodist Church, Chautauqua Lake Fishing Association, Industrial Welding and Fabricating Company, and the Lakewood-Celoron Moose Club 2587. The participation of all of these organizations is sincerely appreciated for unifying the Celoron community. In addition, we encourage everyone to ride around the village of Celoron, and view the homes competing in the 2013 Holiday Home Lighting Contest."
At 4:45 p.m. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be coming down from the North Pole to visit at the Lucy statue. At 5 p.m. there will be the presentation of gift certificates from Brigiotta's Christmas Store to the lighting contest winners, lighting of trees, and presentation of a gift certificate from Brigiotta's for the best decorated tree.
