The National Weather Service has issued a lake effect snow warning for Chautauqua and Cattaraugus counties, which will remain in effect until 4 a.m. Thursday.
Accumulations between 4 to 8 inches are expected today, and 3 to 5 inches are expected tonight, along with winds of 15 to 30 mph - producing blowing and drifting snow.
According to the National Weather Service in Buffalo, travel may be difficult today and tonight due to snow-covered roads, poor visibility and heavy, blowing snow. Drivers traveling across the region should expect rapid changes in road and visibility conditions.
