Betsy T. Wright, WCA Hospital president and chief executive officer, said it is a privilege to provide area residents a patient-centered complex with a full-service line of surgical and nonsurgical ear, nose and throat care.
''Our patients can get care close to home, and not have to travel,'' Wright said.
The ear, nose and throat - also known as ENT - complex provides otolaryngology specialty services including diagnostic hearing evaluations. The center brings together a dedicated team of board-certified physicians and medical professionals who provide diagnosis, treatment and surgical services. The team includes Dr. Sean Carroll, a board-certified otolaryngologist; Sidney P. Lipman; Rick Fornelli; and Ruthann Lipman; who have a long tradition of providing otolaryngology care and service in the region. Carroll said he has been an ear, nose and throat doctor for 15 years. He said the center staffs a licensed audiologist who performs hearing evaluations, as well as offering hearing aid services. Free hearing screening services were provided to those who attended the grand opening.
''It is an A-1 place,'' he said.
The public also enjoyed the ''Healing Power of Love & Laughter,'' which was an exhibit from the Lucy Desi Center For Comedy. A collection of never-before-seen artifacts from the comedy center were on display that reveal historic works of art that highlight Lucille Ball's involvement in Jamestown and her participation in community service. The Jamestown Harmony Express also entertained people with holiday music, and there were complimentary holiday refreshments and gift giveaways.
