Dennis W. Heil of Medina, passed away Monday, Dec. 2, 2013, at Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester.
He was born in Jamestown, on Jan. 13, 1964, a son of Kay (Scofield) Mighells and Eugene F. Heil.
A graduate of Falconer Central High School, Class of 1982, he was a member of the National Honor Society. He attended Triangle Tech in Erie, Pa., and on Sept. 2, 1989, he married the former Frances M. Maille.
He was employed by Barden Homes for more than 20 years and was currently employed by Claims Recovery Financial Services, as an office manager.
Denny was formerly active in the Iroquois Trail Council, Boy Scouts of America, Medina Troop 28 and was a former AYSO coach. He was a talented wood craftsman and attended many craft shows in Western New York, and enjoyed gardening. He was especially fond of rollerblading with his kids.
Survivors include his wife, Frances; seven children: Alexander, Zachary, Austin, Holly, Daniel, Hannah and Hunter; his mother, Kay (Robert) Mighells of Raleigh, N.C.; his father, Eugene (Traudi) Heil of Bemus Point; sister, Deborah (John) Avery of Raleigh, N.C.; brother, Steven Heil of Jamestown; mother and fatherinlaw, Bettyann and Howard Maille of New Bern, N.C.; brotherinlaw, Howard Maille of Erie, Pa., three nephews: James Maille and James and Joshua Lacki; three nieces: Melissa and Janelle Avery and Cassandra Heil.
He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Merle and Mildred Scofield and paternal grandparents, Glenn and Julia Heil.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 47 p.m., at the Cooper Funeral Home, 215 W. Center St., Medina, where his funeral service will be held on Thursday at 2 p.m. The Rev. James Knapp will officiate. Interment will be in West Ridgeway Cemetery.
