George W. Park Jr., 69. of Heritage Park Nursing Home, formerly of the Hotel Jamestown, died Monday, Dec. 2, 2013, in the nursing home.
He was born July 15, 1944, in Jamestown, N.Y., the son of the late George and Lillian Park.
Prior to employment with the former Big N Department Store, he had raked leaves, shoveled snow and mowed lawns. He later retired from the former AMES Department Store.
He was a volunteer for the American Cancer Society, the Lions Club during Poppy Days, and was a Century donor for the American Red Cross.
He enjoyed attending church services, and prior to moving to Heritage Park had been a member of Cross Point Church. He enjoyed doing word searches, country music and bingo. George was the type of person who enjoyed and appreciated all people.
He is survived by his sister, Virginia (Robert) Walz of Jamestown; three nephews: Bruce Walz and Brian Park, both of Jamestown, and Raymond Park of Frewsburg.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Diana Park.
No funeral or visitation will be observed. George donated his body to the University at Buffalo.
