Robert J. Warner, 79, of 604 Big Tree Road, died at 8:30 p.m. Sunday (Dec. 1, 2013), in WCA Hospital.
He was born Jan. 1, 1934, in Sugar Grove, Pa., the son of Walter W. and Belle Bleakley Warner, and was a graduate of the former Sugar Grove High School.
Prior to retiring, he had been employed in the shipping and receiving department of the Clark Supply Co. In earlier years he had worked at Jacobson WeakleyOlson, and at the Art Metal Construction Co.
He was a member of the Busti Federated Church, where he had formerly been a trustee and a member of the choir.
A dedicated family man and lover of animals, he had a great sense of humor. He enjoyed all holidays, especially Christmas, and also loved vegetable gardening, baking and cooking. He was an avid fan of the Cleveland Browns and Indians.
Surviving are his wife, Janet M. Weaver Warner, whom he married Oct. 7, 1961; a daughter, Amy L. (Tom) Morrison of Frewsburg; five grandchildren: Robert A. Lyon of Frewsburg, Allison M. (Bill) Futch of Florida, Bruce W. Barker, Elizabeth A. Barke, and Molly J. Barker, all of Jamestown; a greatgranddaughter, Kate A. Futch of Florida; a greatgrandson, Ethan M. Morrison of Celoron; and two step grandsons: Michael (Jessica) Morrison of Celoron and Jeremy Morrison of Jamestown.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Ann L. Barker; a grandson, Andrew M. Warner; and by a brother, Wendell W. Warner.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Busti Federated Church. Pastor Lee O'Brien will officiate. Burial will be in the Wesleyan Cemetery in Sugar Grove.
The family will receive friends from 24 p.m. and 68 p.m. Wednesday in Powers, Present & Sixbey Funeral Home.
