Hugh Oag, 81, formerly of Sinclairville, N.Y., passed away on Nov. 20, 2013, at his home in Trenton, Fla., surrounded by family.
Born in Thurso, Scotland, he moved to Canada and then settled with his family in the United States in 1960. Together with his wife, Sadie M. Oag, they owned and operated Dalmore Holsteins until 2002. Afterward, Hugh continued to work in the dairy industry at North Florida Holsteins until his illness.
Hugh had a passion for dairy cattle and the show ring in which he led many champion cows and was recognized for his many accomplishments in the dairy industry. He shared this passion and vast knowledge with many local and international students throughout his career.
Hugh is survived by Sadie, his wife of 59 years, and their children: Alistair (Jeanne) Oag of Gerry, N.Y., and Linda (Myron) Lanphere of Sinclairville, N.Y.; grandchildren: James (Laurie) Godfrey, Buck (Michelle) Godfrey, Abbie and Morgan OagWalker, Catherine Oag; and greatgranddaughter, Bayley Godfrey. Hugh is also survived by a sister and two brothers in Scotland along with many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by greatgranddaughter, Alayna Godfrey.
Hugh wished to be remembered by the many great times shared together and no visitation or service will be observed.
