Marjorie J. Hurlburt, 91, formerly of 59 Homestead Blvd. W.E., Jamestown, N.Y., passed away at 4:55 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 24, 2013, in the Heritage Green Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility.
A Bradenton, Fla., resident for 30 years before moving back to Jamestown in 2005, she was born Jan. 24, 1922, in Akron, Ohio, a daughter of the late J. Paul and Esther Anderson Ice.
Marjorie was a 1940 graduate of Jamestown High School and enjoyed attending her class reunions over the years.
In earlier years she was employed by the Art Metal, Inc., and with her love of exercising and being physically fit, was the manager of the Elaine Powers Figure Salon in Jamestown.
She was a member of the Jamestown Church of Christ and the Church of Christ in Bradenton, Fla., and was a volunteer for the Meals on Wheels in Florida. She was also known for her work as a beautiful seamstress.
Surviving are her husband, Donald E. Hurlburt, whom she married June 27, 1976; a daughter, Lynne (Dan) Anderson of Jamestown; six stepchildren, Donald (Teri) Hurlburt of Atlanta, Ga., Ronald Hurlburt of Palm Harbor, Fla., Gary (Cindy) Hurlburt of New Orleans, La., Judy (Bill) Anderson of Fredonia, N.Y., Gregory (Juanita Rublee) Hurlburt of Jamestown and Kathy (Don) Ferguson of Orlando, Fla.; three grandchildren, Chalan Williamson of The Netherlands, Allison (Patrick) Slagle and Andrew (Donnelle) Conti, both of Jamestown; 16 stepgrandchildren; two great grandchildren, Claire Conti and Chase Slagle, both of Jamestown; and nine step great grandchildren.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Marvin B. Williamson whom she married in 1942 and who died Aug. 15, 1970; a son, Kevin A. Williamson who died Aug. 5, 2010; and a brother, Jack A. Ice who died Oct. 17, 2004.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Lind Funeral Home. Rick McCurdy of the Jamestown Church of Christ will officiate. Burial will be in the Sunset Hill Cemetery.
Friends will be received from noon2 p.m. Tuesday prior to the service.
