Lea K. Genung, 24, of Dunkirk, N.Y., died suddenly Monday evening, Nov. 11, 2013, as a result of a motor vehicle accident.
Lea was born in Westfield, N.Y., on Sept. 3, 1989, the daughter of Robert and Diane Genung of Brocton, N.Y., and Gina Rondenelli of Dunkirk, N.Y.
Lea had attended Brocton Central School and St. Hyacinth's School in Dunkirk, N.Y. She was a graduate of the Dunkirk High School Class of 2007 and attended the State University at Fredonia.

Lea had a passion for life. In high school, she excelled both in scholastics and track and field and while at college, she was a member of the SUNY Fredonia women's track team. She enjoyed cooking, boating and fishing, watching movies, playing video games and bird watching.
She had worked at various places including The Resource Center in Dunkirk, N.Y., the WCA Home in Fredonia, N.Y., and Fieldbrook Farms of Dunkirk, N.Y.
Besides her parents, she is survived by her grandfather, Dennis "Harvey" Fiegl of Dunkirk, N.Y.; her stepgrandparents, Joseph and Annette Gula of Dunkirk, N.Y.; two sisters: Christine Rondenelli of Washington State and Rachael (Jon Yerico) Genung of Forestville, N.Y.; a niece, Sydney Yerico; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Lea also leaves behind her loving companion, Trevor San George of Dunkirk, N.Y.
Lea was predeceased by her paternal grandmother, Patricia Fiegl; her maternal grandparents, Patricia Patti and Joseph Rondenell; and a nephew, Riley Reshaw.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, Nov. 15, 2013, at 11 a.m., from the Morse Funeral Home, Brocton, N.Y. The Rev. Larry Morrison of the Brocton Baptist Church will officiate.
Friends are invited to call at the Morse Funeral Home, 51 Highland Ave., Brocton, N.Y., on Thursday Nov. 14, 2013, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Interment will take place in Portland Evergreen Cemetery, Portland, N.Y., at the convenience of the family.
