Michael Edward Travis, 67 years old, of Chautauqua Road, Fredonia, N.Y., passed away at his home on Sunday morning, Nov. 10, 2013, from injuries received in a farming accident.
Michael was born in Brocton, N.Y., on Aug. 12, 1946, and was the son of the late William Travis and Esther Wolnik Travis. He lived most of his life in the area but spent the late 1980s and early 1990s in Utah then returned to this area to live in 1996. He was a graduate of Colorado State University where he received his master's degree in wildlife biology. He also served his country in The United States Marine Corps and was a veteran of the Vietnam War Conflict. He was a self employed contractor by trade.
Mike is survived by his son, Alec TravisDaugherty of Portland, N.Y.; his companion, Rebecca DaughertyClementson of Portland, N.Y.; his mother Esther Travis of Brocton, N.Y.; one sister, Charlotte McCorry of Phoenix, Ariz.; and two brothers: Richard Travis of Portland, N.Y., and Stephan Travis of Florida. He was predeceased by his father, William Travis, who passed away in 2001.
