The first official Fortnightly meeting of the 2013-14 season was held recently at the Sheldon House.
The program for the year is entitled, "You're Invited to a Potluck Dinner at the White House." The year actually began with a summer luncheon in August at the Hare and Hound Restaurant in Bemus Point, when the topic of the year was announced. There will be seven talks and papers presented by members of The Fortnightly, as is typical for each year. Reni Bob is the president and on October 10, she introduced the first speaker of the year. Candy Larson gave a talk on "Enticing Appetizers: Interesting Visitors to the White House." The tea snacks were provided by Kathleen Crocker.
The second meeting occurred Oct. 24 with Jean Voltmann presenting her paper to Fortnightly members on the topic, "Nuclear Cocktail: North Korea." The Guest Tea Committee was headed by Frieda Fairburn with the assistance of Carole Reeder and Lillian Ney.

The next meeting will be today with Shelley Dahlie as the presenter. The topic will be "Soup to Nuts: Entitlements."
