Hanging With The Sox

November 6, 2013
The Post-Journal

An area native became friends of two members of the Boston Red Sox pitching staff earlier this year while bartending at Firepit in the Gulf Coast Center in Fort Myers, Fla. Former area resident Chris Korby, far right, and his friend, Kyle Sherman, second from right, are joined in the photograph by Clay Buchholz, far left, and John Lackey of the Red Sox. Korby is the son of Patsy and Morrie Otander of Ashville. Patsy noted that the Boston hurlers even played horseshoes in Chris' backyard during her visit. "They were great when I was visiting - polite and fun,'' she said. As we know, the hard-throwing right-handers helped the Red Sox win the World Series last week over the St. Louis Cardinals.
