WESTFIELD - As the local economy struggles to bounce back, employers are more eager than ever to discover new ways to maximize business output and productivity.
An employer informational event will be held on Wednesday from 2-4 p.m., at Noble Winery, located at 8630 Hardscrabble Road in Westfield. The event seeks to bring local employers in contact with social and labor organizations, and facilitate ways to better harness local resources and business potential.
"It's like a reverse jobs fair," said CodyAnne Weise, employment, retention and reentry facilitator for the Chautauqua County Jail and Office of Probation. "(Employers) can come and go, and see what opportunities interest them."
Topics of discussion include: financial benefits for hiring individuals from specific populations, types of skills potential employees are gaining in local programs, and opportunities to create training tailored to specific employee needs.
Participating organizations include: Chautauqua Works, Chautauqua Opportunities, New York State Department of Labor, ACCESS-VR, The Resource Center, BOCES and Career Systems Development.
Attendees will be allowed to explore and sample wine at Noble Winery, currently going through its grape harvest season.
