ELLINGTON - An AARP Driver Safety class will be held on Nov. 18 and Nov. 20 in the Farman Free Library from 5:30-8:45 p.m. each evening. The class is open to drivers of any age, but is focused more on drivers age 50 and older. Participants should take their driver's license and must attend both classes. To register, call 490-3880.
The cost is $15 for members and $17 for non-members. Payment must be made at the second class on Nov. 20. Beginning in January 2014, the cost for classes will be $20 for members and $25 for non-members.
Completing the class may bring a reduction of up to 10 percent off insurance premiums and a reduction of up to three penalty points off a license. This certificate is valid for up to three years.
Topics covered include safe driving strategies, vehicle knowledge, driving while intoxicated, distracted driver problems, road rage, space cushion, vision, hearing and medication.
