In response to Mayor Sam Teresi's proposed budget for 2014, my husband and I are very opposed to any increase!
We are angry at the lack of regard for the average homeowner who must pay exorbant taxes to support the perks of union and city workers! Furthermore, those who receive these generous benefits ought to be required to live in the city limits. There is too much catering to those who do not pay taxes which puts a heavy burden on those who do.
In order to retire, we cannot sell our house due to high taxes. The politics of the city does not encourage or market private enterprise jobs which in turn enhances the problem.
Bad enough high gasoline prices exclusive to New York state make taxpayers want to leave the state. Government is not friendly to the taxpayer!
