RANDOLPH -The second-seeded Randolph boys soccer team (14-0-3) continued its dominant season on Tuesday defeating Portville (1-16), 9-1, in the Section 6 Class C prequarterfinals.
The game was a rematch of a final season meeting between the two teams that favored the Cardinals, 8-0.
Randolph was lead in scoring by striker Mathew Born, Alex Shipherd, Zack Jackson and Taylor Miller.
This was about the only time Randolph goaltender Nick Carpenter touched the ball as he prepares to kick the ball away in the Cardinals’ Section 6 Class C boys soccer prequarterfinal win over Portville. See additional photos at cu.post-journal.com.

Shipherd recorded a goal along with three assists, Born had two goals and an assist, Johnson netted two goals, and Miller got a goal as well as a helper.
Netminder Nick Carpenter continued his brilliant season, saving the two shots he faced. Portville's lone goal came near the end of a game after Levandowski replaced Carpenter in favor of Miller.
The lone gone for Portville came when senior Cody North connected on a pass from Brady Stein.
Colin Kloc recorded nine saves in the game for Portville.
The Cardinals will now face 10th-seeded Westfield-Brocton (6-7-3, 3-6-3) at home on Thursday at 3:30 p.m.
BUFFALO - Tenth seeded Westfield-Brocton (6-7-3) was able to beat seventh-seeded Tapestry-Maritime (7-8-1),3-2, in penalty kicks.
For the Wolverines, the first goal of the game came off the foot of Dylan Robinson on the assist from Jake Fish.
Bryce Bentham was second to score for Westfield-Brocton on an unassisted tally in the 25th minute.
The game made it through a scoreless overtime, and was decided in free kicks.The scorers for the Wolverines were Jake Fish, Dylan Robinson, Dan Skinner, Christian Fuentes, and Peter Manzella.
Westfield Brocton will now travel to meet undefeated Randolph in the quarterfinals at 3:30 on Thursday.
A-L TOPS T-BIRDS
ALLEGANY - Dom Saglimben found the net twice for fifth-seeded Allegany-Limestone as the Gators (13-2-2) downed No. 12 Chautauqua Lake, 4-1.
Saglimben scored his first of the game with18:44 left in the first half, assisted by Cole Davis and four minutes later, picked up his second tally as Paul Caterina assisted for the 2-0 lead.
With 11:43 left in the second half, Catarina added a goal of his own as T.J. McMullen assisted and after Chautauqua Lake got on the board, Davis wrapped up the scoring for the Gators with an unassisted goal with 2:51 left.
Dom Conroy had nine saves in getting the win in goal for the Gators.
For the Thunderbirds (3-11-3), James Latimer collected 26 saves in the losing effort.
Allegany-Limestone will take on No. 4 Maple Grove on Thursday in the quarterfinals.
