RANDOLPH - More than four area fire departments responded to a structure fire in Randolph Sunday afternoon.
Firefighters responded to Grace Episcopal Church, 21 N. Washington St., Randolph just after 5 p.m. to find a working structure fire.
According to a fire chief at the scene, the pastor of the church was recovering from smoke inhalation after attempting to shut all of the doors inside of the church in an effort to contain the fire and smoke.
The parish hall was completely gutted by the fire, however, the external structure remained intact. Fire officials believe the fire was electrical, but an investigation is still ongoing.
The Randolph Fire Department was assisted at the scene by departments of East Randolph, Kennedy, Little Valley and Kiantone.
