FREWSBURG - For those seeking a healthier, more nutritious lifestyle - particularly during the upcoming winter months - a visit to Frewsburg's new health center may be just the ticket.
Paula Rondeau, owner of Frewsburg Nutrition & Wellness Center, located on 39 W. Main St. in Frewsburg, celebrated her grand opening last Thursday, offering free samples of her protein shakes, energy teas and aloe waters, all of which Rondeau, through her personal experience, endorses with conviction.
"I started my weight loss journey a year ago," Rondeau said. "(These drinks) were able to take my hunger away, and the weight loss just came with it."

For $6, customers can buy two 16 oz. drinks, a protein shake and either an energy tea or aloe water. The shakes, which come in a wide variety of flavors, from vanilla almond to chocolate mint, are meant to be a healthier alternative to soda and other sugary drinks, offering up to 30 grams of protein.
"What I've learned is that protein is essential," Rondeau said. "These drinks can act as a meal replacement, and the biggest thing is that they're delicious."
Customers can choose from four varieties of energy teas, each containing only five calories, yet having the ingredients to burn up to 80 calories.
Also included is a wellness evaluation, in which customers work with the center to achieve their health and weight loss goals.
"We (provide for) anybody," said Leslie Nalbone, owner of Jamestown Nutrition Club Shake It Daily, who is helping Rondeau with her business launch. "They're people who want to lose weight, who want to build muscle if they're athletes...they're people who have issues with high cholesterol, or simply don't have proper nutrition."
In addition to making drinks, the center provides a large catalog of health care products, from vitamins and supplements to products dealing with weight management, skin care and digestive and heart health.
Customers can also sign up for the center's aerobics class, which begins Thursday at the center.
"I want people to know that (the center) can be a casual hangout," Rondeau said. "We have Wi-Fi (Internet connection). It's somewhere you can go to get a quick meal, work out, and even bring your kids."
Even students, according to Rondeau, can stop by after school to get a kid's shake or a liftoff energy drink, both only $2.
"I think in today's world, we're all in a hurry and this is just the right way (to do things)," Rondeau said. "This is a quick meal that is going to keep you full, it's going to give you the nutrients you need and it's going to better your body."
The center will be holding a six-week weight loss challenge, beginning on Thursday, from 5:30-6:15 p.m. The top two winners will get cash prizes, while the third-place winner will get a discount on his or her favorite shake.
