Cycling instructors at the Jamestown YMCA are ready to give your October some get up and go. Any adult wishing to do so can try an indoor cycling class for free on Tuesdays at 9 a.m., Wednesdays at 5:30 p.m. and Saturdays at 9 a.m. throughout the month of October.
The Jamestown YMCA's indoor cycling program is sponsored by Hollyloft Ski & Bike. Begun in 2009, this partnership has enabled the Y to provide area residents with a fun and effective fitness option that suits a wide variety of health seekers from first time exerciser to competitive athlete.
Cycle Hollyloft classes provide a high-energy workout on a stationary bike, set to music and led by an instructor who helps keep you engaged and motivated. Exercising on an indoor stationary bike can improve cardiovascular health, help prevent diabetes, diminish reliance on blood pressure medications, aid in weight loss, reduce your risk of heart disease, help you sleep better at night, improve your mood and is easy on your joints.

When trying a Cycle Hollyloft class for the first time, plan to arrive 15 minutes early so the instructor can assist you in adjusting the bike to meet your needs, bring a water bottle and dress in comfortable clothing and supportive workout shoes. Space is limited, so anyone interested in trying one of the free classes is urged to call the Jamestown YMCA at 664-2802 ext. 0 up to 12 hours in advance of a class to reserve a bike.
