Lori Pettit Rieman, Cattaraugus County district attorney, recently reported the following activity in Cattaraugus County Court with the Hon. Ronald D. Ploetz presiding.
Benjamin C. Goon of Jamestown was sentenced to 3 years probation, 50 hours of community service and a mandatory state surcharge for his conviction on leaving the scene of a personal-injury accident without reporting. On Oct. 10, 2010, in Randolph, Goon operated a motor vehicle knowing or having cause to know that an accident, which resulted in serious physical injury, had been caused to another person due to an incident involving his motor vehicle. He left the location of the accident without first stopping, exhibiting his license and insurance card for such vehicle and giving his name, address and insurance information to the injured party or police officer.
Misty D. Luce of Salamanca was sentenced to 1 to 3 years in the New York State Department of Corrections for her conviction of third-degree burglary. The incident occurred on or about Dec. 24, 2012, in the town of Allegany, when the defendant knowingly entered or remained unlawfully in a building with intent to commit a crime therein.
