According to Lakewood-Busti Police, the van was traveling east on Lawson Road when the Accord, traveling south on Big Tree Road, T-boned the van sending it airborne. There are stop signs on Lawson Road at the intersection with Big Tree Road, but there are no stop signs for traffic driving on Big Tree Road.
The three male victims were removed from the van and taken by ambulance to WCA Hospital, where officers believed they were going to be airlifted to other regional hospitals due to the severity of their injuries.
Witnesses at the scene said the men had purchased the goats from a location on Lawson Road earlier in the afternoon. Some of the goats were walking free at the scene while two remained in the van while emergency personnel worked to extricate the victims.
The female driver of the Accord was also taken by ambulance to WCA Hospital.
Ambulances from Busti, Kiantone, Lakewood and Celoron responded to the scene.
