ELLICOTTVILLE - A third-quarter touchdown proved to be the difference for Maple Grove-Chautauqua Lake on Friday night.
A.J. Hulton's 6-yard scoring run and Riley Beaton's placement in the third period gave the Thunder Dragons a 14-6 lead over Ellicottville-West Valley and it held up for a Class D football victory.
Maple Grove-Chautauqua Lake took a 7-0 lead in the second quarter when Ryan Miller raced 44 yards to paydirt and Beaton kicked the extra point.

The ThunderDragons were driving for more points in the first half as Beaton set up for a field goal on the last play of the first half, but Cam Wilson of Ellicottville-West Valley blocked the kick and raced 95 yards into the end zone for the touchdown. The two-point conversion pass failed.
Maple Grove-Chautauqua Lake had several chances to pull away, but Ellicottville-West Valley was stellar on defense, led by Wilson with 11 tackles and Dylan Paprocki with nine.
Miller finished with 95 yards on 20 carries for the winners.
Phalla Musall saw limited action for the hosts and rushed for 45 yards on 11 carries. He has been bothered by sprained ankle suffered in the Franklinville game on Sept. 27.

BEARS DOWN PIRATES
FREWSBURG - Kevin Rogers and Jordan Ingerson took care of all the touchdowns as Frewsburg (4-2, 4-1) defeated Clymer (1-5, 1-5), 33-14.
Rogers finished with 34 carries for 209 yards and three touchdowns while Ingerson had 11 rushes for 32 yards and two touchdowns.
Rogers' touchdowns were from 33, 15 and 11 yards while Ingerson scored from 11 and 8 yards.
Zack Haller led the Bears' defense with seven tackles and a sack, and Ingerson had five tackles. Bryce Peterson, Josh Nelson, Christian Proctor and Garrett Steel each had an interception.
Frewsburg held Clymer to only 30 yards rushing
The bulk of the Pirates' offense was from quarterback Dylan Neckers, who completed 6-of- 22 passes for 134 yards. One was a 57-yard touchdown pass to Jake Wiggers.
Matt DeStevens scored Clymer's other touchdown on a 35-yard run.

FRANKLINVILLE - Panama broke up a tie game with Franklinville early in the third quarter and kept their opponent in check the rest of the way to earn a 12-6 win.
The Panthers (4-1, 5-1) scored with 2:44 left in the first quarter as Kyle Saxton ran 57 yards for a touchdown and a 6-0 lead. Franklinville answered midway through the second quarter as Jamie Greiner found the end zone on a 3-yard run to tie the game.
But in the third quarter, Bryce Payne connected on a pass to David O'Dell from 14 yards out, posting what proved to be the winning score.
Saxton led the offense for Panana with 19 carries for 148 yards and a touchdown while on defense, Jacob Short had 8 tackles and a sack and Dylan Bergman collected 7 tackles.
For Franklinville (1-4, 1-5), Peter Kopp threw for 111 yards, Ben Erickson had five catches for 65 yards. Defensively, Greiner led in tackles with 11.

CLASS C SOUTH
SALAMANCA - Tyler Siperek rushed for 120 yards on 19 carries and scored once as Salamanca (4-1, 5-1) clinched second place in Class C South with a 26-7 victory over Allegany-Limestone.
After Allegany-Limestone got on the scoreboard on Zach Johnston's 1-yard run in the second period, Siperek hit paydirt on a 29-yard run to bring the Warriors within, 7-6, later in the stanza.
Later, Jared Fish cracked over from the 1 and Tadd Beattie ran in the two-point conversion to give Salamanca a 14-7 lead at halftime.
In the third period, Salamanca scored twice on Joe Hinman's 4-yard strike from Fish and on Fish's 29-yard run.
Fish passed for 68 yards for Salamanca. Ron Cunningham gained 88 yards on 18 attempts in defeat.

RAIDERS TOP CLARENCE
CLARENCE - Nikk Holland led the offense as the Jamestown junior varsity remained undefeated (5-0-1) on Thursday night in the Class AA South football.
Holland had three touchdowns en route to 143 yards rushing on 14 attempts and completed two passes for 24 yards as the Red Raiders took care of the Clarence jayvees, 26-6.
Devon Jackson accounted for the other Jamestown touchdown and ran for 99 yards on 13 attempts.
The defense was led by Jeremy Bush with seven tackles while Brandon Whitacre, Jackson and Ricky Williams recorded five stops each.
Jamestown entertains Orchard Park at 10 a.m. next Saturday at Strider Field.
