KIANTONE - There was an armed robbery at a Kwik Fill in Kiantone early Wednesday morning.
Allegedly at 12:33 a.m., the clerk had closed for the night when David Zembardo, 34, of Jamestown confronted her in the parking lot, and pulled out a knife. Zembardo allegedly then forced the clerk back into the store, where he forcibly stole some cash.
Zembardo then ran north, and Sheriff's K9 Officer Drago was called in and was able to track him into Jamestown, police said. He was taken into custody without incident. He was charged with first-degree robbery, third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, second-degree menacing and petit larceny. He was arraigned in Kiantone and committed to Chautauqua County Jail. The knife and all the money were recovered.
The Sheriff's Office was assisted by Jamestown Police, Lakewood-Busti Police and the New York State Police.
