CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE
CHAUTAUQUA - Chance W. Blanchard, 26, of Card Road, Mayville, was charged at 4:36 p.m. on Thursday with endangering the welfare of a child and second-degree harassment. Sheriff's deputies responded to an incident on Card Road in the town of Chautauqua and upon arrival, witnesses stated that Blanchard threw a female into a wall and also pushed a 12-year-old youth. Blanchard was taken into custody and arraigned in the Town of Chautauqua Court. He will appear back in the Town of Chautauqua Court at a later date to answer the charges.
HANOVER - Cody J. Cook, 20, and Ryan C. Cook, 17, both of Jackson Street, Hanover, were charged at 9:10 a.m. on Thursday with fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property. The Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office conducted a search warrant of a residence pertaining to an investigation of stolen property. Both Cooks were found to be in possession of items that were recently reported stolen in vehicle larcenies in the town of Hanover area. Both were charged. Ryan Cook turned himself in to sheriff's deputies and was arraigned in the Town of Hanover Court. Cody Cook is currently incarcerated in the Chautauqua County Jail on an unrelated charge. His warrant was sent to the jail as a detainer. Further charges are pending investigation.
JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT
Leigh E. Hunter, 29, of Price Avenue, W.E., Jamestown, was charged at 12:06 a.m. on Friday with driving while intoxicated, DWI per se and speeding. Jamestown Police Department officers observed a sedan traveling westbound across the Third Street Bridge at a high rate of speed. Officers effected a traffic stop near the intersection of West Third Street and Catlin Avenue on a gray 2012 Subaru. Further investigation revealed that the driver, Hunter, was intoxicated. She was transported to the Jamestown City Jail, where she submitted to a chemical breath test showing her blood alcohol concentration to be .14 percent and was charged.
Cody M. Murphy, 23, of Jamestown was charged at 10:18 a.m. on Friday with endangering the welfare of a child. Jamestown Police officers responded to 43 Barrows St. regarding a small child that was found. The child was naked and had no adult supervision. After checking several addresses in the area, officers eventually found the parents sleeping inside their residence. Murphy was found at the scene and he was transported to the Jamestown City Jail without further incident.
