Appearing on the HUNT Channel may be an elusive dream for most hunters, but for one local man, the dream is about to become a reality.
Craig Robbins, The Post-Journal's weekly outdoor columnist, will appear on the HUNT Channel, Sunday at 6:30 p.m. as the network broadcasts his Oakridge Outdoors TV Team in action.
The appearance, which will showcase two hunts of varying game, will be the first of many, as Robbins' team will now occupy the half-hour time slot every week.

"It's a dream come true," said Robbins, who is also Chautauqua County's sports fishing and hunting consultant. "It's really an honor to be asked by the HUNT Channel to do this. We're all really excited."
Besides writing hunting and fishing columns for The Post-Journal, which he has done for more than 20 years, Robbins is the CEO of Robbins Outdoors Enterprises, which consists of the Oakridge Outdoors TV Team, a group of passionate hunter friends and family from across the country who videotape their hunts.
"It's not Hollywood," Robbins said. "We show what the average hunter does everyday. Sometimes we're successful, sometimes we're not. That's what makes it real."
Each episode will highlight hunts throughout the local area and across the country, with game ranging from deer and antelope to ducks and geese.
"I'm not the star (of the show)," Robbins said. "The wildlife is the star."
Robbins' big break stems from HUNT Channel executives catching hold of his previous hunting show, which ran for eight years on local television stations.
"It mostly ran on the Empire Sports Network and the Madison Square Garden Network," Robbins said. "Now (on the HUNT Channel) we can be seen by 15 million people."
The prospect of a nationwide audience and its effect on the Oakridge Outdoors TV Team is not lost on Robbins.
"I know what it's like being recognized in the street (because of my previous show)," Robbins said. "I'm pretty lucky to be here living the dream."
