The Jamestown Community College Jayhawks scored five unanswered goals to improve to 6-4-2 overall by rolling to a 6-1 victory over the Roberts Wesleyan College junior varsity team in men's soccer on Monday afternoon.
Roberts Wesleyan's Brian Zehr gave his team the early 1-0 lead, scoring on a deflection 10 minutes into the first half.
JCC tied things up 15 minutes later as Michael Morris connected on a penalty kick for his first goal of the year and the game remained 1-1 throughout the first half and seven minutes into the second half.
That's when Nico Beringrud scored his fourth of the year for JCC, assisted by Morris, for a 2-1 lead and six minutes later, Gage Bird knocked in his fourth of the year, unassisted on a steal, to make it 3-1.
A minute later, Kisun Peters scored for JCC off a pass from Justin Loverme and Alijiah Minor scored the Jayhawkss' last two goals, scoring unassisted with 19 minutes to go and he added another with 16 minutes left, connecting on a loose ball in front of the next.
JCC goalie Tyler Dykstra had two saves in earning the victory.
The Jayhawks will play Mercyhurst North East on Wednesday at home at 4 p.m.
