Samuel J. Amatuzzo, 73, of 56 Chapman St., Jamestown, passed away Friday afternoon in his home.
A lifelong resident, he was born March 26, 1940, the son of the late Joseph and Frances Amatuzzo.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed by Chautauqua Hardware for 13 years.

He was a member of the Zion Tabernacle Church. He enjoyed spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting and bowling.
He will be remembered as a loving and hilarious husband, father, grandfather and friend.
Surviving are his wife Marian I. Amatuzzo, whom he married July 6, 1968; three sisters: Patti (Ace) Miller of California, Joanne (Paul) Czepiel of Connecticut, and Fran (Fred) Woleben of Jamestown; four children: Peter Amatuzzo of Florida, Paul Walling of Vermont, Lori Pellerino and Todd Amatuzzo of Jamestown; seven grandchildren: Patrick and Kyle Walling, Amanda, Tyler and Jenna Pellerino, and Simon and Shane Ferringer; and a great-grandchild, Jaeda Pellerino.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Amatuzzo.
The family will be holding a memorial service at a later date.
