ELLICOTT - A two-vehicle accident sent an SUV into the side of a restaurant Wednesday morning.
Terry C. Stebbins, 39, of Celoron was charged with driving while intoxicated after the 7:30 a.m. crash.
Ellicott Police Department reports that Stebbins' van rear-ended an SUV that was attempting to make a left turn onto Robinson Avenue from Hunt Road. The SUV careened off the road and struck the westward side of the House of Petillo restaurant.

The 55-year-old female driver of the SUV was taken to WCA Hospital after complaining of back pain. Neither Stebbins nor his co-passenger were injured. The House of Petillo was closed at the time of the crash.
Police confirm that Stebbins' blood alcohol content was more than the New York state limit of 0.08 percent. It was not confirmed if he was speeding at the time. The speed limit on Hunt Road is 40 mph.
As for the House of Petillo, the restaurant is open for business. Manager Kim Pearson was seemingly undaunted by the mishap, having quickly boarded up the damaged wall.
"The HOP is still hopping," she said.
