The skate park equipment at Chadakoin Park has been removed, but will return in the spring.
Jeffrey Lehman, Jamestown public works and park director, said the equipment at the skate park was removed last week to repave the blacktop at Chadakoin Park. The park, which is located at West 10th and Washington streets, will have its skate park back come spring time. Lehman said the equipment is being refurbished during the winter.
''We are going to be working on the equipment. It is getting older, and it needs some updating,'' Lehman said.
Lehman said the equipment will be evaluated to see what needs replaced and what just needs refurbished.
''We will look at the cost to fix it or replace it,'' he said. ''We will get that straightened out during the winter. Some if it just needs screws replaced, repainted or general repairs.''
Chadakoin Park also has a picnic pavilion, playground equipment, basketball courts, and baseball and softball fields.
