Beatrice Town Rakestraw plans to celebrate her 90th birthday at a family party in Coopersburg, Pa., where she now resides. She was born on Sept. 15, 1923, to Leon and Bertha Town, in the family home at Clark's Corners in Kennedy. The home was where she was married in 1947 to the Rev. Nathan Rakestraw, who pastored the church up the road. The church was in the building that had been her grade school for several years, and now she was the pastor's wife. They served four Christian & Missionary Alliance churches in New York over 40 years, then returned to Clark's Corners to retire in the family home and attend the same church up the road - Clark's Corners Community Church. Other events held at the church have been her 80th birthday party and Nathan's memorial service in 2009. Beatrice has been active in her later years preparing taxes for seniors and serving at the church in children's ministries, the choir, on the Trustee Board, and the Missions committee. Her family includes their four children, eight grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
