The Aug. 20 meeting of the North Harmony Senior Citizens featured a barbecued chicken dinner with all the trimmings. The barbecued chicken was prepared by the Lake Chautauqua Memorial Post Men's Auxiliary in Mayville. Members provided the usual dishes of delectable taste. Seventy-five members and guests were present. The hosts for the dinner were Mary and Glenn Pratt, Blanche Tracy, and Steve and Loretta Saulsgiver. The birthday cake was provided by Mary Pratt.
Birthday wishes and song were given to Bonnie Johnson, Eleanor King, Evelyn Thorndike, Audrey White and Mary Cunningham. A wedding anniversary was noted for Charles and Bonnie Nash.
Entertainment for the meeting featured Ken Max Clark, a Southern Gospel singer. He sang many of the religious classics of Merle Haggard, Clint Black and Willie Nelson. He told the audience of his spiritual renewal in life and how his music is his offering to God for what he has done for him.
A short business meeting included various committee reports. Those members who had travelled to the D-Day reenactment in Conneaut, Ohio, described the activities of the day. It was a fantastic experience, they said.
The next meeting will be held on Sept. 18 at the Club Center. The menu for the dinner will be pot luck. Members are asked to bring a dish to pass. Audry and Mark Clark, Eileen Rensel, Audrey White, Dorothy and Charlie Krause, Barb Johnson, Franklin Hanson, and Jeannie Humble will be the hosts. The birthday cake will be provided by Joyce Warner.
