Tom Ames' six-foot par putt on the second playoff hole secured victory for him and partner Tim Magnuson in the Stanley Weeks Fall Classic at Moon Brook Country Club on Sunday.
Ames and Magnuson were forced to a second extra hole when the team of Mike McElrath and Randy Ordines recorded a terrific par on No. 1. Ordines hit a 60-yard wedge to four feet and McElrath nailed the putt.
The playoff was required after the teams tied at 150 after two rounds. Ames and Magnuson shot a 67-83, while McElrath and Ordines finished at 71-79. Ames' drilled a 12-foot par putt with a foot break on No. 18 to send the Classic into a playoff.
