With the start of school and annual homecoming dances, Rossetti said she has several gowns prepared for ladies looking for something new.
"I provide dresses for military balls, pageants and anything you would need a long gown for," she said.
Prior to opening her own business, Rossetti said she worked at a bridal shop along Fluvanna Avenue for five years. She said when the owner decided to retire, that is when she decided to continue in the business by opening her own shop.
"Weddings are a happy occasion. Most people are happy to be here, and I'm happy to help them," she said.
Rossetti said most of her business comes from referrals. She said word-of-mouth advertising is the best type.
"It means you've made someone happy. It is always best when someone is happy," she said. "It feels great. What is nice now that I've been here for almost nine years, I have girls who once came in for prom dresses now coming in for wedding gowns. You remember them, and they remember you, and it is a nice way to keep in touch."
Rossetti said she has a seamstress who can do alterations like hemming and letting out a dress. She also provides a rebeading services for dresses.
The business is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. Rossetti is also available by appointment by calling 665-3501.
