More than 100 children from C.C. Ring Elementary School and their parents turned out for an event held by the Parent Teacher Association on Wednesday afternoon. Pizza, water and chips were available to anyone attending for $3 per meal. According to PTA volunteers, the event was a way for the students to spend time with their new classmates. "We usually do something like this at the end of the school year to say thank you to the students and parents," a volunteer told The Post-Journal. "This year we decided to do it as a way to kick the year off. This has been fun and they just keep coming." Walgreens also pitched in to help the PTA by donating water and prizes for the event.
