Dave Wilfong, of Norton Avenue in Jamestown, will be running for the District 11 seat in the Chautauqua County Legislature in November's election.
"I'm asking the voters of District 11 to vote for me and bring real change to county government," Wilfong said. "We will be the people's choice in Mayville and will not vote to win the confidence of special interest groups."
Wilfong also commented on his desire to bring the ideas and the needs of his district to the county legislature.
The Republican-endorsed candidate said if elected he will work with fellow legislators without partisan politics to promote economic development and lower property taxes in Chautauqua County.
Wilfong is a lifelong resident of Chautauqua County and a Jamestown High School graduate. He is a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving from 1978-82.
Currently, Wilfong is the director of maintenance at the Rehabilitations Center in Olean, and is also a state-certified building code inspector. He is married to his wife, Beth, and they have two grown sons and a daughter.
